Andrew Dodsworth is the Programme Director for UKCS and leads our Site of the Future initiative and innovation strategic pillar. With over 16 years industry experience, Andrew delivers business transformation and operational excellence with the application of lean principles and process digitization. In short, using great tools and techniques to maximise opportunities and automate process to complete on or ahead of time; provide totally transparent progress monitoring; collaboration and task ownership and deliver real improvements to project performance. 

​

Tools and process though, are only 50% of the issue. Andrew trains, coaches and mentors project teams to sustain improvement and build on their success. Through maintaining a consistent and professional approach each project benefits from an all round strategy to business and performance improvement.

Rachel Sudlow

Balfour Beatty | Strategic Improvement Project Manager

Rachel will lead the AutoBIM project. Rachel has a Quantity Surveying background and 10 years of experience in the construction industry.  Latterly her expertise has focussed on delivering and co-ordinating key areas of company strategy, and, mobilising, establishing, and implementing large national programmes of work to achieve successful outcomes.

Dr Saheed Ajayi

Leeds Beckett University | Reader in Digital Construction

Dr Saheed Ajayi is the Academic Principal Investigator for the Auto-BIM project. His expertise is in Construction Management, Waste Management, Whole building LCA, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and the use of Digital Technologies (such as Big Data Analytics, Predictive and classification models, AR/VR, and Machine Learning) in Construction. Saheed has over 15 years of industry and academic experience and is currently a Senior lecturer at Leeds Beckett University and a chartered construction manager (MCIOB). 


Saheed has successfully participated in over £6million worth of innovative R&D projects, involving the application of digital technology in construction, that are funded by various research funding bodies including Innovate UK and EPSRC. He has published widely in academic and professional journals, and he is currently a reviewer for many reputable international journals within the built environment.

Dr Sam Zulu

Leeds Beckett University | Reader in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management

Dr Sam Zulu is a Senior Lecturer in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management in the School of the Built Environment and Engineering at Leeds Beckett University. He is the School's Postgraduate Research Coordinator and leads the Built Environment Education Research cluster. He is a Chartered Builder (MCIOB) and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His experience in industry, teaching and research spans over 20years. His research interests are in organisational & management studies, information & communications technology, built environment education, project management and sustainability. He has published both journal and conference papers in these research areas. His current research focus is on the impact of digitisation on organisation and management practices in the construction industry.

Hadi Kazemi

Leeds Beckett University | Senior Lecturer

Hadi Kazemi (BSc MSc FHEA) is a senior lecturer in the School of Built Environment and Engineering in Leeds Beckett University. He has got a degree in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Construction Project Management with years of experience in the industry working as project and supply chain manager mainly within SME sector, before moving into academia. Hadi has been involved in various multidisciplinary and collaborative research projects over the years mainly focused on the sustainability issues within the built environment.


His current research focuses on the broad areas of risk management, sustainable and smart built environment. In particular, he is looking at the implications and application of IoT (Internet of Things) and Industry 4.0 in construction industry and how construction can learn from other industries.

Peter Routledge

White Frog Publications | Managing Director

Managing Director at White Frog Publishing, author, trainer a regular speaker at events and Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) member. Peter’s highly technical engineering background, international industry experience assures his expertise to advise government departments, leading property developers, main contractors and major design consultancies on strategic BIM adoption.


Peter has extensive international experience at the highest level; has provided training and consultancy services to many Government Organisations, Institutions and Associations throughout Europe, America, Africa, China and the Middle East; with over thirty-five years of experience in the construction industry, including over 25 years expertise managing engineering software businesses. Enjoys excellent relationships in the international engineering software community and with many of the major corporations within the construction industry.

Paul Woddy

White Frog Publications | Author and Publisher in all things BIM

Heading up the White Frog Publishing technical author team, Paul is one of the most experienced BIM consultants available in the industry today. Paul specialises in strategic BIM deployment plans and wide scale BIM education, and has been involved in the design, delivery or project management of such within over 400 national and international clients.


Paul maintains a position at the forefront of ideas, techniques and usage within the industry, writing for numerous trade journals and chairing the creation of the AEC (UK) BIM Protocols for Revit, as well as assisting with global BIM standards initiatives and the adoption of BIM by various countries. Paul has also been part of various groups, tasked with assisting the industry in meeting its targets for BIM adoption. 


Prior to taking up his full-time role with White Frog, Paul acted as an independent BIM and Revit consultant under the shy pseudonym of Revit Guru, delivering advice and experience to some of the biggest organisations and the most complex projects. His worldwide reputation stems from being part of the original group of Revit Corporation staff that first brought the product to the World. After nearly twelve years of offering implementation and deployment guidance to over two hundred clients, Paul is uniquely placed to manage and guide the technical specialists writing the White Frog courseware.

Dr Hafiz Alaka

University of Hertfordshire | Reader in Digital Technologies and Innovation

Dr Hafiz Alaka is one of the academic researchers on the AutoBIM project. He is currently the director of the Digital Technologies and Innovation Lab at University of Hertfordshire, leading researchers on various technology driven innovative research projects. He is committed to ongoing 21st century inter-disciplinary research with focus on applied digital technology (including Big Data Analytics, IoT, Blockchain, Machine Learning, etc.) to infrastructure/construction projects. 


Hafiz has over 16 years industry and academic research experience. He leads and takes part in collaborative research with reputable industry partners. He has been involved in over eight funded research projects worth over £6 million, funded by bodies including British Council, Innovate UK, EPSRC and Royal Academy of Engineering. Current projects include AutoBIM and Live-Tap among three others.


Hafiz has published widely, regularly reviews for top journals, and currently supervises and examines PhDs. He is an editorial board member of the Artificial Intelligence Advances journal, and an invited speaker and delegate in a number of research events.
